SBP asked to provide PTI's financial documents

Despite holding several meetings, ECP�s scrutiny committee failed to make significant headway
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday summoned transaction details of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) accounts from State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Sources said that the Commission asked the SBP to provide financial statements of PTI’s national and foreign accounts after Imran Khan-led party failed to produce these despite court orders.
The ECP’s investigation committee had summoned 10 documents from the PTI but the party failed to submits details.
Despite holding several meetings, ECP’s scrutiny committee failed to make significant headway as PTI didn’t submit financial documents.
Initially the committee was mandated to complete inquiry within one month of its inception. However, due to non-submission of the documents by PTI, the committee’s working period was extended till July 3.
